It’s not just a Book

” Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” (Psalms 119:105 NKJV) #Bible

I remember when I came to the Lord, depressed, knowing I had enough of trying to live the way the world said I would be happy. It was the complete opposite. Drinking beer didn’t bring girls hanging all over me, it brought hangovers. Get rich quick schemes didn’t make me rich, they just took my money, and so on.

God’s word is not just a hunky dory feely good tingles inside thing that you feel when you read it. It’s alive and active in doing just what it says.

The idea of a lamp to my feet is God’s Word being the best counsel. When I follow It I see where I’m going and I don’t stumble like I continually did in the world away from God.

God’s Word being a light to my path shows me my direction, where I will end up on this path in life. God’s Word shows me right from wrong. Wrong is what I suffered from groping in the dark with no direction in this world. Right is the blessings I experienced following God’s direction and not my own.

People who think the Bible is just a book are mistaken. God’s Word is a love Letter from God Himself and a how to on living in this dark and fallen world. Without God’s Word you are doomed to darkness and death.

Our Father’s Council

” Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3:3-4 NKJV) #Bible

Wouldn’t it be nice if your reputation was highlighted with Mercy and truth? With Mercy we were found to be kind and faithful, good and devoted to others. And with truth we would be found with lasting faithfulness and firmly truthful on how we conduct our lives. 
These are high standards to set our lives to when we bind them around our necks, and write them on the tablet of our hearts infusing them into who we are. Standards of nobility in God’s eyes that would move Him to respond in blessing our lives. 

These characteristic’s would bring a life of peaceful long days allowing us to walk with our Savior even to be raptured right into the presence of God our Father. Praise the Lord for His Livingkindness and His sound council.

The Invitation to Mankind

For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.      (Rom 5:7-9 NASBEC)#Bible

It is a rare thing that one will die for another. But God the Creator of us all, sent Jesus the Christ to live a perfect pleasing life to Father God. Then Jesus laid down His life for all of mankind, allowing all of us to benefit from His life and His death, giving all of us eternal life with God the Father. We see that by this act the ball is in our court. Father God has done everything needed in this invitation. It’s entirely up to us to have eternal life. If we reject God’s invitation, the only option left is God’s wrath. Our choice is simple. Jesus shedding His blood is the proof and justifies our entrance into eternity and our eternal relationship with Father God. This is and always has been God’s intention for all of mankind. To be saved from God’s wrath through Jesus the Christ.
