It’s not just a Book

Posted in Uncategorized on August 29, 2017 by activeinspiration

” Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” (Psalms 119:105 NKJV) #Bible

I remember when I came to the Lord, depressed, knowing I had enough of trying to live the way the world said I would be happy. It was the complete opposite. Drinking beer didn’t bring girls hanging all over me, it brought hangovers. Get rich quick schemes didn’t make me rich, they just took my money, and so on.

God’s word is not just a hunky dory feely good tingles inside thing that you feel when you read it. It’s alive and active in doing just what it says.

The idea of a lamp to my feet is God’s Word being the best counsel. When I follow It I see where I’m going and I don’t stumble like I continually did in the world away from God.

God’s Word being a light to my path shows me my direction, where I will end up on this path in life. God’s Word shows me right from wrong. Wrong is what I suffered from groping in the dark with no direction in this world. Right is the blessings I experienced following God’s direction and not my own.

People who think the Bible is just a book are mistaken. God’s Word is a love Letter from God Himself and a how to on living in this dark and fallen world. Without God’s Word you are doomed to darkness and death.

Our Father’s Council

” Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem In the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3:3-4 NKJV) #Bible

Wouldn’t it be nice if your reputation was highlighted with Mercy and truth? With Mercy we were found to be kind and faithful, good and devoted to others. And with truth we would be found with lasting faithfulness and firmly truthful on how we conduct our lives.
These are high standards to set our lives to when we bind them around our necks, and write them on the tablet of our hearts infusing them into who we are. Standards of nobility in God’s eyes that would move Him to respond in blessing our lives.

These characteristic’s would bring a life of peaceful long days allowing us to walk with our Savior even to be raptured right into the presence of God our Father. Praise the Lord for His Livingkindness and His sound council.

The Invitation to Mankind

For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.      (Rom 5:7-9 NASBEC)#Bible

It is a rare thing that one will die for another. But God the Creator of us all, sent Jesus the Christ to live a perfect pleasing life to Father God. Then Jesus laid down His life for all of mankind, allowing all of us to benefit from His life and His death, giving all of us eternal life with God the Father. We see that by this act the ball is in our court. Father God has done everything needed in this invitation. It’s entirely up to us to have eternal life. If we reject God’s invitation, the only option left is God’s wrath. Our choice is simple. Jesus shedding His blood is the proof and justifies our entrance into eternity and our eternal relationship with Father God. This is and always has been God’s intention for all of mankind. To be saved from God’s wrath through Jesus the Christ.

God’s Power

” For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV) #Bible

We Christians haven’t been given anything, that we need to fear anything. “But” God has given us Power. That power is found in love and a sound mind, for example, that allows us to be at peace. You take those two expressions of this God Power and through our lives we realize they are limitless. I’m sure there are far more expressions of God’s Power but they all find their source is God’s Love. Just think of it, to have a sound mind in all situations is wonderful. We can rest on God’s Power, in everything we encounter in this life, good or bad. God’s Power, if we trust in our Father God will always preserve us to the end of this life and beyond.
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” Romans 8:15

Abide in the Promise

” Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us–eternal life.” (1 John 2:24-25 NKJV) #Bible

We heard the Good News in the beginning, that Jesus the Creator of all things came down and becoming just like us and living a life pleasing to God, which we can’t do because of our sins. Jesus did laying down His Life taking our sins upon Himself and died on a cross. Then Jesus rose again from the dead vanquishing our life’s sins and presented all who believe and abide in the Promise sin free. We abide, that is to live closely, to remain, to stand, and endure, to share meals, even to know each other intimately together with Father God and Jesus His Son. What an amazing Promise, and as we see times unfold. This world is drawing to a close, and soon we will be with the Lord forever. Amen.

Hope and Change and the Truth.

Obama might have promised hope and change, but like a tetnaus shot he showed us what we hope for and how we need to change.

Rom 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

Social Media with People and their excuses, like “its complicated”

We humans always have a plan or an end game in play.  There is always a reason for what we either are about to do or are doing.  We see this even more clearly as social media continues to evolve into who knows what.  I imagine in time, if not already, social media will have a resemblance to our experience as humans.  The challenge is, will we be able to keep up with all of the images, or portrayals of ourselves we produce attempting to accomplish the satisfaction of our own desires.

In the past when all we had, was basically written or verbal communication, by letter or phone. Where the “gift of gab” so to speak, was the art of accomplishing our end game.  The beauty of discovering the truth then and now is still observation of actions and remembering what has been said.  With social media documentation has improved.  We see this in all of those who have suffered old stuff about them gone viral on the net from what was said either written or in video or photos.   I think people will have to adapt, to protect themselves much better in the future.  But what about when your young?  That’s where the true danger is, be careful young people, what you say or do could come back to bite you where it hurts when your older.

My daughter who asked a question on a social medium of which I don’t remember verbatim, partly because its true, and to protect her anonymity.  Asked what it meant when someone used the phrase “What do people mean when they answer its “complicated”.  Here is my answer:

People don’t want to answer by saying its complicated.  People walk around like they are carrying a projector screen saying look at the screen that’s me.  They don’t want anyone to see who they really are, they prefer to present an image they can manage.  Thus the end game.  Figuring this out requires one to go for the ride for a while to see just what their motivation truly is. Being one who believes the Truth of God allows me to shed the skin of worldly pride and live trying to be honest about who I am and to others.

Being a Christian, I enjoy God’s Word, the Bible in how it works on me and helps me to become who God created me to be.  Anything else is to settle for second best, I don’t want to live an inferior life, rather than the one God has given me, and I find it difficult to understand why anyone else would.  My advise is to simply pick up the Bible and read, and while you’re reading, talk to God, and then keep reading to see what His answer is.
