Pride and the Prophet

Just as when those who witness the rippling waves kiss the shoreline, realize a boat has gone by.  Yet no one witnessed the boat which is long past.  So is a prophet of God who praises the Lord with the credit of his announcement.

The waves of intelligence roar over the depths of ignorance and pride.  To navigate these waters one needs to journey in the vessel of humility.

One who wallows in his own pride has only to roll in the feathers of foolishness.  Then all will know his true intentions.

Some of the blessings of life

Its tough when we find it easier to look back in our life than to look forward.  This change from youth to middle age sneeks in because of our preoccupations. 

That’s why the best thing all along was to look to Jesus, but our arrogant youth blinded us from His Majesty.   Fortunately getting older causes us to face our future with honesty if we’re not stuck in the past because of our lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life.

I believe this is one of the reasons God created us as mortals rather than being stuck with all the barnacles of life, like sin, that we would carry with us as immortals.

Genesis chapter 3 covers it well.

Quality of life

Sobriety is the proof of self existance in life. An altered state of consciousness is death.

This realization for me was made possible by looking at life from both sides of the fence.  Not that I died, but I know now that without a course adjustment I would have.

This has become a blessing as I realize the gift of life that God gives us and eternal life by the wonderful gift of Grace provided us by Jesus the Christ.
