God’sThoughts and Ways

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,  declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. #Bible

Notice verse 7 is connected by the word “For” in verse 8.
Isa 55:7 ISV Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous person his thoughts. Let him return to the LORD, So he’ll have mercy upon him, and to our God, for he’ll pardon abundantly.

God’s way of doing is not as ours. The example is our inability to do anything as good or exact as God can.
Interestingly as we see, for us it isn’t a two way street so to speak, but for God it is, and probably in more ways than two.
We have trouble forgiving completely in any situation, yet God does it every time we sin. Can you imagine on a world level? My brain just crashed and had to restart just thinking about that, I can’t even think like our Father who by the way resides in a place we can’t comprehend, even its location.
In order to try to be like God in thought or action, God declares to the rebellious sinners, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous person his thoughts”. Then we can return to the Lord who will have mercy on us and pardon us abundantly. The words ” mercy” and “abundantly” are absolute, they don’t go half way and stop, they finish the job.
So I will respond by submitting completely to our Father in Heaven and start learning His ways, and thinking like Him as I am instructed by His Word, the Bible. I will strive to become more like Jesus my Lord and Savior who is the expression of God the Father’s abundant Mercy and Forgiveness. Praise the Lord God Almighty!
